If you have any carbonated water on hand, like club soda, its acidity and bubbles will help break up stains more quickly. Gently blot any excess wine or grape juice to avoid pushing more into the fibers, then soak the area. Repeat that process until the stain is gone.
Pet Stains
If your pet had an accident on your prized area rug, don’t fret; you can clean up pet stains using a spray bottle filled with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. The water will help to break up the stain, while the vinegar will help to neutralize the odor. Once again, repeating the process of blotting excess liquid and spraying your cleaning solution will yield the best results.
Coffee
Spilled your morning cup of joe? Coffee stains are particularly difficult to remove but if you get to them right away, you may be successful. You can use the same vinegar/water mixture with a tablespoon of non-bleach dish soap added. Blot up the coffee that hasn’t soaked in yet, then thoroughly spray the area.
